Skills

I have almost 10 years of experience using the adobe suite. I have extensive knowledge of both Indesign and Illustrator as they are my most used applications. I have gained a considerable amount of knowledge in both Photoshop and Lightroom in the last 2 years by attending the adobe conference and participating in in-depth course for both applications. This year, I have participated in a course for After Effects and have expanded my knowledge on the technical and creative uses of this software. I hope to be able to integrate it into my current role as a new section of our creative department.

On top of my technical skills and proficiency with adobe, I also have developed my knowledge of both print and digital media. I have spent time communicating with vendors about printing materials and processes to expand my understanding of how designs go from digital to physical. On the digital side, I worked to understand the proper dimensions, resolutions and layouts of different social platforms, digital signs and websites.

Work experience

GARDNER-WEBB UNIVERSITY | Boiling Springs, NC

December, 2022 – present

My current role is at GWU. I am responsible for organizing, designing and printing projects that I am assigned. As you can see from my portfolio, I have worked on hundreds of different projects in the short time I have been here. It is also where I have furthered my education in design from employer sponsored course, events and meetings. I plan on continuing my training and take on even bigger and more complicated projects in the future.

828:design | Asheville, NC

June, 2021 –  July, 2021

During my senior year, I had the absolute pleasure of interning at 828:design in Asheville. A small but mighty group of designers who decades of experience have perfected their craft and have helped companies and people all over NC. I will never stop talking about the invaluable experience and information I got from the short time I was there. They helped me to solidify and confirm my desire to be a designer. I was able to gain first hand knowledge of design in the real world.

FOODLION | Shelby, NC – Cullowhee, NC

January, 2015 – December, 2022

I am proud to say that I have worked through most of high school and all of college. While at Foodlion, I worked in many departments with vastly different responsibilities. Ranging from cashier to managers of both frozen foods and produce, I learned the meaning of organization, personal communication, time management, and a ton of other skills. While the experience was a dumpster fire at times, it helped me deal with the goods and bad of a customer service.
