Annual top 10 Albums
Each year, I create a instagram story of my top 10 albums. What began as a straightforward list of albums has transformed into a more dynamic, interactive experience. I experiment with different layouts, typography, and multimedia elements to create a visually engaging presentation. Over time, I’ve incorporated custom themes, new categories, and even motion graphics to enhance the storytelling. This project has become a personal challenge to push my creative boundaries, helping me develop new design techniques and refine my approach with each iteration. It’s a way to track my growth as a designer while sharing good music. Check out my Instagram to view all the lists from 2020 to now
2022
This year marked the first time I dedicated significant time to the design and layout of my top 10 albums list. My focus was on experimenting with type. I intentionally kept the color palette minimal to allow the typography to take center stage. The color used ended up evolving into a recurring theme throughout the project, adding a cohesive visual element while keeping the themes of each year diverse.

2023
This year, I shifted my focus to textures and effects, giving the design a more tactile, layered feel compared to last year’s minimalist approach. I used shadows and highlights to create a stacked, 3D look that added depth and dimension to the typography. I also explored combining Photoshop and Illustrator to craft unique textures, enhancing the visual interest and giving each element a more organic, dynamic quality. The result was a vibrant, almost “rainbow” aesthetic that contrasted with the subtlety of previous years

2024
In the most recent year, I took a different approach and decided to create a motion graphic to display my albums. This project presented a new challenge: designing a static image that would look fluid once motion was added. To make the design work in motion, I opted for a more colorful layout, knowing it would complement the dynamic flow of the animation. While the motion aspect made the process ten times longer, the outcome was absolutely worth it. The vibrant colors and fluid movement added a new dimension to the project, making it more engaging and visually striking than ever before.
